I watched the movie first so I think it ruined the book for me. I wasn't impressed and it was kind of hard to pick up and read at times. I don't know maybe because I expected so much more that what I got.

I have heard similar things from my reading friends. For that reason, I haven't even bothered with it. Probably, like all books, it's just not for everyone. :)
I really did try. I have a two or three chapter rule and I made it to chapter 5 before I was like "I just can't do this". You are right, it just isn't for everybody.
Audio books totally put me to sleep as well. I have a super short attention span, so if I'm not actually reading the book, it's not gonna work, lol.
And I think you'll find my post about my favorite/least favorite books-to-movies quite interesting. Let's just say that we totally disagree on one of them, haha.
